IRATA International is proud to have been awarded the City of London Work at Height Innovation Award at the recent London Work at Height Seminar (LWAHS) 2019, held at the historic Guildhall, London. The award will become a feature of the annual London Work at Height Seminar; it aims to encourage innovation in the Work at Height sector, with specific regard to reducing risk and exposure to incidents. Provided that the criteria to be considered for the award is met, all organisations and individuals will be eligible to receive the accolade.

IRATA International was selected by Justin Tyas and Paul Roberts of the City of London Corporation, as the first winners of the prestigious award, in recognition of their exceptional efforts to regulate industrial rope access and promote best practice within the sector. Additionally, their work planning and organising the LWAHS contributed to their selection as the first winners of the award.

IRATA Chairman Jonathan Capper and IRATA Secretary/General Manager Rodney Marage, accepted the award on behalf of IRATA International, thanking the collective efforts of the IRATA committees, members, auditors, assessors, technicians and staff who work tirelessly to improve upon and grow industrial rope access across the globe.

Both Jonathan and Rodney expressed that they were pleased with the strides made by IRATA in recent years, but recognised that there remains much to be done to improve the industry further. Nonetheless, they were delighted by IRATA’s notable achievement in winning the award and extended their gratitude to Justin Tyas and Paul Roberts of the City of London Corporation for their continued support of London Work at Height Seminar.
