Course Details

IRATA LEVEL 2 – ROPE ACCESS TRAINING

Course duration: 6 Days

Audience: For experienced level 1 technicians wishing to progress within the IRATA scheme.

Course aim: IRATA Level 2 rope access training will enable you to rig working ropes, undertake rescues and perform rope access tasks under the supervision of an IRATA level three. The courses will also include legislation, safety requirements and quality assurance procedures relating to rope access.

Syllabus:
Theoretical knowledge of rope access with regard to safe use of equipment and techniques. This will include a working knowledge of risk assessments and method statements. Theoretical knowledge and practical application of rigging techniques and appropriate knots. Safely and efficiently carrying out a range of rope access manoeuvres.
Climbing on structures using work positioning and fall arrest techniques. A range of rescues including both abseil and hauling techniques.

Course Instructor:
The course is run by renowned IRATA level 3T trainers with vast experience of running courses worldwide.

Pre-training requirements:
IRATA Level 1 with a minimum of 1000 logged hours and 12 months experience, Medical Questionnaire.

Maximum Instructor to student ratio: 1:6

Period of valid certification: 3 years

Assessment: The course is assessed on day six by an independent IRATA assessor. This course is designed and delivered using BS8454 (code of practice for the delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue), IRATA international code of practice and equipment manufacturers technical instructions.
