Height Safety Instructor

Summary

heightec is a well established provider of specialist training for work at height and rescue, delivered through our network of training centres across the UK. We have a requirement at our London training venues for a height safety instructor working as a subcontractor.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Training Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of training to clients in the rope access, rescue, government agency and telecoms industries together with other specialist sectors. Delivering training sessions to individuals and teams on height safety, including working at heights, fall protection, and usage of safety equipment.

The role involves preparing training materials, conducting practical and theoretical instruction, assessing participants’ skills, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The instructor will also communicate effectively with clients and team members to deliver a high standard of training.

Responsibilities

Deliver training courses at our London Height Safety Centre and client locations
Maintain high standards of safety with close supervision of trainees
Understand legislation and principles of risk assessment
Work in accordance with defined procedures
Maintain high standard of knowledge and techniques
Complete course paperwork accurately
Inspect and maintain training equipment

Experience

Working at height EUSR/MATS/IRATA instructing experience is preferable but we welcome applications from trainers/instructors with other relevant industry experience.

Personal Skills

You will have excellent communication skills. Training experience required and ideally a AET/CAVA qualification or equivalent. Current First Aid qualification required.

Essential Skills

IT to a basic level. Excellent verbal communication skills. You will hold a current, clean driving license as there may be occasional work away, usually southern England.
