The Company

Proud to be an employee-owned company, we are a leading provider of equipment and training in the work at height and emergency service sectors and a founder member of IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association). Across the business, our aim is to provide ‘equipment and expertise to venture further’ to the work at height and rescue industries and the outdoor, cycle and watersports markets. In addition to distribution and training, we manufacture our own Lyon branded products too.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Work and Rescue Marketing Coordinator based at our offices in Tebay. We provide a friendly, contemporary and dynamic working environment and we strongly value a good work life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively work to drive sales by developing and maintaining a content rich and up to date shopping environment for our B2C channels
  • Research, planning and deployment of marketing strategies within budget to drive sales in various W&R Markets
  • Creating and implementing product launches
  • Maintaining the Lyon brand identity to ensure a uniform message is established throughout everything we do

Key duties

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on the development of our new W&R B2C website
  • Actively work as part of the W&R team to develop and align our eCommerce and general marketing strategies to drive sales
  • Implement online advertising and optimization including PPC, Social Media and SEO
  • Implement and maximize marketing campaigns across key social media channels
  • Coordinating the development of a customer e-news database and mail outs
  • Collaborate with external providers to brief and develop content as needed including graphic, video and photography for our product portfolios and training courses.
  • Liaise with external media publications to ensure the best brand presence in line with marketing campaigns
  • Working with department specialists to create and edit content for print advertising, social media, editorials/ press releases and product technical sheets
  • Updating the annual W&R product catalogues and W&R Training Pricelist - including price changes, new products, images, layout and circulation of the material
  • Organizing Lyon brand trade shows and events, including liaising with show organisers and stand builders, stand designers and coordinating sample requirements for display
  • Providing support to the W&R sales rep team ensuring they have up to date marketing materials and samples
  • Monitoring the W&R marketing budget and report against KPIs
  • Administration of marketing costs e.g., internal orders, trade show expenses and advertising
  • Providing quarterly updates to the senior management team and the directors
  • Supporting the Compliance and Production departments with the UKCA markings project, including creation and editing of master files using Indesign
  • Attending events to assist the W&R sales reps/ training team
  • Any other duties as required by the needs of the business

It is essential that you are happy working as part of a small team in an open office environment.

The person we seek will ideally meet the following criteria

  • Ecomm sales or marketing experience ideally using Prestashop or similar
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Confident with Google analytics
  • Paid search, advertising and SEO experience
  • Have a strong command of English and can demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be organised, with good attention to detail and understand the importance of following business processes
  • Be self-motivated and happy to work as a team member
  • Be willing to undertake personal training and development
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of using Mail Chimp or similar
  • Competent with Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Experience in the use of climbing and work at height and rescue equipment
  • Outdoor retail experience and/or work at height retail experience
  • Full clean driving license

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which equates to a 37.5-hour week. Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:30 to 14:00.

  • Commencing salary likely to be in the region of £20,000 - £24,000 dependent on experience
