Do you have the technical expertise and commitment to drive health and safety excellence in industrial rope access? IRATA International, the global authority in industrial rope access, are seeking a Health and Safety Technical Officer to play a crucial role in supporting our Health and Safety Committee and advancing industry standards.

This is a technically focused role at the heart of IRATA’s safety mission, where you will:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Health and Safety Committee (HSC) and IRATA Head Office, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Support HSC meetings through comprehensive agenda planning, venue arrangements, material distribution, minute-taking, and action follow-ups.
  • Communicate IRATA policies and decisions relating to health and safety, keeping stakeholders informed of critical developments.
  • Provide regular reports on health and safety legislation, standards, and industry developments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Direct and manage HSC projects and working groups, ensuring timely delivery within appropriate timelines.
  • Develop and maintain technical guidance libraries and resources for IRATA members.
  • Build strong relationships with associate members and industry stakeholders to maintain current knowledge of industry developments.

What we are looking for:

  • A good understanding of health and safety legislation and requirements relating to industrial rope access.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills with experience working with committees or professional groups.
  • Ability to create and collate industry-related technical guidance and documents.
  • Experience in providing training, coaching, mentoring, or consultancy regarding industrial rope access related health and safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • IRATA rope access qualification or expert industry knowledge highly advantageous.
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade 5 or above (or international equivalent).
  • Higher level health and safety related qualifications (beyond site supervision) preferred.
